Teachers for Earth Day
Throughout Alabama inspired and determined environmentalists are finding ways to conserve our precious natural resources. When I began my eco mystery series, The Adventures of The Sizzling Six, I did not fully anticipate the number of dedicated environmentalist I would meet along the way. What an inspiration it has been to see environmental educators like Traci Ingleright, Kay Stone and Kimberely Murray teaching students to appreciate and understand nature. And what a privilege and an education to see biologist and conservationists like Ken Marion, Thane Wibbles, Mark Bailey, John Trent, Eric Soehren, and Eric Spadgenske, Michele Reynolds, Arnold Rutkis and April Waltz Lapidus actively working to save species.

TO SHOW MY APPRECIATION TO ALL CONSERVATIONS and to inspire a new generation of wise stewards dedicated to the conservation of our precious natural heritage and in honor of Earth Day, I’ve put together a list of scientific stories about natural phenomena that will amaze your students more than any science fiction novel can. You simply cannot make this stuff up. For teachers, I’ve compiled a list of books with environmental themes to arouse your students’ curiosity.
